The Avian Medical Center, established in 1984, is currently the only veterinary clinic exclusively for birds in Oregon. Located in Lake Oswego, it's a short drive from downtown Portland. The clinic's staff are experienced and well-trained, with birds of their own. They are dedicated to ensuring that birds receive the exceptional care needed to be healthy and happy. If clients have questions about anything bird-related, the staff are happy to help. The Avian Medical Center works hard to keep its prices as low as possible while still providing a high level of veterinary services. The clinic is dedicated to the unique needs of birds, from parrots to finches and chickens to geese. They offer services such as emergencies, boarding, and general avian care. The clinic is closed from 12 PM to 1 PM every day to allow the staff to have lunch. All calls received during this time will be returned after lunch. Dr. Marli Lintner has worked exclusively with birds for 30 years. The center also provides guidance on proper bird care, advising against feeding parrots eggs or chicken bones, and cautioning against excessive dairy. They emphasize that just because a bird likes a food doesn't mean it's good for them.
